We are already planning on what we want to do next spring.

Wow! What a summer! We were so busy we did not have time to write about it!

We are slowing down now to get set up for the next set of busy weeks! FALL is here and we are getting ready for pumpkins, mums and all the fall decor!

Look for new sale items everyday!

For the 3rd year in a row we will do Pumpkin Painting for the kids!
October 16 11am-2pm
Free for kids ages 3 and up.

A Day For Moms ..... and pets

For 7 years, we have celebrated Mothers Day with our customers by offering deals or hosting fun events.
This Saturday May 8, we will honor moms by offering Free Flower Planting for kids. Kids can plant a flower to give to mom on Mothers Day! Come early because this will fill up fast!! 10AM-2PM will be Free Flower Planting.

Also this year we will partner with the Union County Humane Society for "Grilling out with the dogs". We will serve Hot Dogs and the Humane Society will be here showing off their adoptable dogs (and other great animals)
Hot Dogs will be free, but donations are accepted and all proceeds will go to the Humane Society.

Every year since 1970, April 22 has been set aside to honor the earth.

Earth Day is a great day to reflect on your current actions and how they will effect the environment. Here are some interesting facts:

•Never underestimate the importance of recycling: if every newspaper was recycled, we could save about 250,000,000 trees each year. Unfortunately only 27% of all American newspapers are recycled.
•More than 20,000,000 Hershey's Kisses are wrapped each day, using 133 square miles of tinfoil. All that foil is recyclable, but not many people realize it.
•Only 11% of the earth's surface is used to grow food.
•Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to watch a TV for three hours - it's equivalent to half a gallon of gasoline.

Dutch Mill would like to honor Earth Day this week by asking you to bring in your old plastic plant containers. You will receive 10% off any tree if you bring in your old containers now through Sunday April 25.

Also, don't forget that this weekend, April 24, we are hosting a Container Class. Bring in your Favorite Planter/Container and purchase a plant/flower from our stock. Our staff will teach you the basics of planting in containers.

It is going to be almost 80 degrees this weekend! It is a sign that we had to open our doors early to let the warm air in!

Today and Tomorrow, April 2 and 3 we are open for a Spring preview!

The season ended for us this month, as it always does in November. However, this year we have dedcided to open for 2 weekends in December for a Holiday Sale!

We will sell:
Christmas Trees (White Spruce), Poinsettias, Paper White Bulbs, Amaryillis and other great holiday gift items!

Open from 10AM-4PM December 4-6 and December 11-13

Busy Bees Gardening Club

A few times a year Dutch Mill offers a complimentary class for kids! Most recently we had the kids in to learn about herbs and even take one home!

If you made it to our Mothers Day Event, we are thankful and we hope that you had a great time! If you didn't make it you missed out :) We had over 100 children plant free flowers for thier mom, our giving patrons donated over $200 to the Union County Humane Society!! We also passed out over 200 free Hot Dogs!!

It was a great event for all ages!

Dutch Mill is hosting a Busy Bees Gardening Club for kids this June! Ages 5 and up can come and learn about planting for FREE!

Mother's Day Weekend

Come on over for our 2nd annual "Grilling out with the Dogs". The Union County Humane Society will be bringing adoptable dogs and cats to Dutch Mill Greenhouse. We will be handing out FREE hot dogs from 10-2 on Saturday May 9th .
Free kids planting also on Saturday from 10-2. The kids will be able to pot up a plant to give to thier Moms.
Don't forget our annual "Spring Warehouse Clearance Sale" is going on right now. That means 50% OFF all bareroot and summer flowering bulbs.

70 degrees sure feels like spring, so of course we couldn't wait to get the greenhouse up and running. For the first time, by popular demand, Dutch Mill opened its doors early for a vegetable sale.
March 6 and 7th proved to be a great success. People bought many different types of veggies. The newest item on the racks this year is the seed potato with 6 different varieties. Dutch Mill encourages people to grow thier own veggie garden and wants to make it easy, our sale offers onions, shallots, garlic, corn, peas, beans, rhubarb, asparugus, strawberries, and many others.

Don't miss out on this oppurtunity, stop in March 13 & 14th to get your veggie garden started. (The store will close March 15th, until opening day on April 15th)
